Offense VS Defense
What's your preferred play-style? Do you tend to lean more towards stall-ish, wall-centered, indirectly-damaging strategies when forming a team, or do you prefer to construct hyper offensive, choice-item abusing, stat-boosting sweeper oriented teams? Or do you usually lie somewhere in between?
Also, which strategy do you think is competitively better for generation 6?

Re: Offense VS Defense
I like to make a defensive core that covers many options (something like Jellicent, ferrothorn and Gliscor in gen 5) and then i build my offense around problems to my defense

As for me, yeah I usually just make some kind of defensive core and then throw some life orbers and choice users in there. I do love gimmicks though like my swords dance / weak armor skarm haha

Re: Offense VS Defense
Ask me this question in 4th gen, i'd say stall. Ask me 5th & 6th gen, i go all out offense. I used to be a stall whore, but then i abused the sheer power of all the offensive threats. Suffice to say, i believe the best defense is an overpowered offense. There are way too many good wall breakers with high attack and mixed movepools and stats. Throw in mega pokemon, easy rapid spinning in the form of defog, and defensive pokemon not getting much of a boost... straight defensive strategies just wont cut it.

Yeah I'd have to agree... unfortunately... I mean I knew the defensive days were over once I saw darmanitan in gen 5 :/

Yeah i was pretty sad when i had to give up full defensive strategies in 5th gen. I mean, stall did work decently if u threw in some kind of weather. Rain stall in particular worked nicely. But then ppl began abusing hyper offensive teams and anti weather, then that spelled the end.

Re: Offense VS Defense
I usually go for a balanced team, occasionally leaning towards a bit more offensive. Last gen I liked defensive and stall teams better but I doubt stall will work too well anymore with Defog and MEvos.

Re: Offense VS Defense
I always tried to go on a balanced team. At least 1 special attacker, 1 physical attacker, 1 special defender and 1 physical defender. Then add supporters/attackers/defenders as best as I see it.
In gen 5 the statement i said depended on the teams which most were mainly weather. For Sun and Rain teams, i go more offensive. On sand however, I go with more balanced way.
In gen 6 now my teams show that i go a little more offensive, but I still have defensive team mates as well.
